Ocean voyagers - the travels of northern rockhopper penguins across the high seas

The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland plays a vital role in the conservation of northern rockhopper penguins. As well as caring for a captive population at Edinburgh zoo, they also help to protect wild populations of this endangered species. At the RZSS WildGenes lab, Dr Jean-Marc Costanzi is analysing genetic data to aid a multi-disciplinary team of researchers in understanding the movement of rockhopper penguins between breeding sites in the Atlantic and Indian oceans.
